’16 Bazooka Zhang

Harkening back to the days of the old-school bubble gum comic character Bazooka Joe, Bazooka Zhang is the namesake of Xinghai Tea Factory founder, Mme Zhang Jian-li one of the Five Golden Flowers of Menghai TF.  Comprised of Bulang material, expressing tutti fruitti and musk along traditional bitterness and sweetness.  Some faint sencha.   Full mouthfeel, lasting bazooka huigan.   In LA since May ’23.  Fruit Class.

’16 Strawberry Thrill

Top layers toasted sugar.  Middle medley berry and cream.  Strawberry prevails.  Bulang early spring shengtai from ’08 pressed in ’16.  In Los Angeles since Nov ’22.  Fruit Class.

’14 Bulang Peacock

Turbinado sugar with umami, vanilla, and light orchid.  Sweet bourbon vanilla predominates broth and huigan.  Bulang bitterness emerges.  Zhongcha/China Tea certified organic.  Acquired in ’15 and Sept ’22.  Bitter and Zen Classes.

’13 Gen. Zhong’s Bulang

Bourbon vanilla and toasted marshmallow with sweetness. Astringency reaching the throat. Consists of Bulang shengtai material from elevations of 1400-1600m from one of the three pillars of the puerh industry Zhongcha/ChinaTea, which shifted to certified organic production in ’07.  In LA since Mar ’16.  Bitter Class.

’08 9 Volt

9-Volt exhibits an electric aftertaste mouthfeel, thus earning it its name.  With broth flavours fluctuating between mango, apricot, and grapefruit, it’s most distinguishing attribute is tartness amidst a medium to light viscosity.  Medium to light sweetness.  Stored in LA since Sept ’22.  Fruit Class.

’08 Water Blue Mark

Peat-camphor, vanilla, and a touch of smoke.  Second batch Zhongcha/ChinaTea pillar of puerh industry. Bulang, early spring arbor material  Stored in LA since Nov ’23.  Camphor Class.

’07 Mincemeat

The ’07 Mincemeat purported to be modeled after Menghai TF’s 7532.  It’s one of Fuhai’s hallmark productions, offered on an almost annual basis. The ’07 is distinctively of a mincemeat nature: prunes, spices, and bay laurel.  Tobacco Class.

’07 Maitreya’s Offering

Grape-y nose, broth, and huigan.  Black grape, hints of sun fermented grape. Light sweetness, medium visosity.  Gripping and lasting astringency.  Guangdong dry stored, in LA since Sept ’22.  Fruit Class.

’07 Green Peacock

As of Jan 2025, Green Peacock, Xinghai TF comes with a fast exhilarating qi, along the backdrop of layered flavours.  Honey, lemon, slight apple place it in the Floral and Fruity Classes.

’06 Red Peacock

Peat, honey, light bacon aroma.  Creamy flavor, balanced astringency and sweetness with zero bitterness.  Classic recipe from 60s by puerh titan Zhongcha/ChinaTea.  Stored in LA since Mar ’23.  Tobacco Class.
