Sweet Richness hails from high altitude protected tea gardens in the Dai Autonomous region of Xishuangbanna. This is ecological, aka shengtai, ripe puerh, growing among other trees and over 80 types of insects at altitudes higher than 1500 meters.
Sweet Richness lives up to its name, with a solid character matching the intensity of the brew colour. The overall tone is deep, with resinous wood and talcum notes, along with initial hints of vanilla and camphor. The wood and talcum resonate in the aftertaste for a spell giving rise to a velvety savory quality evocative of the herb sage. The lingering sweetness and astringency stimulate salivation. YPH is one of the old pre-monopoly brands going back to before the 1850s. Originally located in Yi Bang, in 2000 the resurrected YPH brand resumed operations in Jinghong, Menghai County in the midst of industry restructuring that afforded private enterprise formation. YPH is a high-end brand using only shengtai materials with its listings included in the Puerh Yearbook.
